Almo Plaza
The Church

Move to the green space in front of the church and stop here

The last defense of the Alamo was here. An elevated earthen gun platform had been erected at the east end of the church and three cannon were placed there. Gun crews included Almaron Dickinson and Gregorio Esparza. The few remaining defenders at the cemetery low wall and palisade wall took refuge in the Alamo church. From the elevated gun platform at the back of the church, along with the gun crews, the small band shot and killed the attacking soldados until the defenders were overwhelmed.
