Almo Plaza
North Wall

Walk back towards the corner of Houston and Alamo Streets. Do not cross back over Houston Street. Cross Alamo Street at the light and walk east. You should stop in front of the Hippolito F. Garcia Federal Building and United States Courthouse.

The Alamo’s north wall ran directly across Alamo Street and through the Federal building lobby. All the space north of this wall was a scene of incredible carnage.  This is where the Mexican forces broke through the Alamo's defenses. Alamo commander William B. Travis died here defending the North wall.
